Too often, we feel a sense of unfulfillment from a perceived lack of conscious choices; making our lives often feel like a never-ending series of mountainous hurdles to overcome.
Think of an adventure coach as a sherpa helping you climb that mountain. The goal of Adventure Coaching is to:
Working with horses is an effective way to reveal your
personal path to self-discovery
Horses help us:
During a 1 on 1 coaching session, the client connects to their horse with a deeper reality and awareness of their responses and reactions to the world around them. In the coaching session, the horse becomes an active partner and provides feedback and mirrors the client’s behavior and emotions. Horse’s sensitivity to the client’s movement and emotions provides insights for the coach to direct the session and generate self-awareness. While interacting with a horse helps clients gain a sense of safety, allowing self-discovery in a healthy, controlled environment.
Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) is the process of developing self-awareness through the priceless feedback one receives from working with horses. This experience requires us to unplug from distraction and connect with our true selves.
Horses demand consistency, emotional control and above all – authenticity. Through repetition, we develop a much stronger foundation of empathic awareness and an increased power to build effective relationships.
Horses are great allies for us to engage in mindfulness. As prey animals, they’re highly intuitive and masters at reading human body language. Horses mirror our behavior and emotions and offer honest and nonjudgmental feedback. They see us for who we are – not who we “think we should be”.
Move further from truth, and a horse will let us know with a bump, a flick of the tail, or complete disconnection. Learning to read this invaluable feedback helps us increase awareness of how others perceive us and how we can better approach our interpersonal relationships.
