There is a different way to experience the land—slower, quieter and more connected.
Live With Adventure offers guided horseback rides through Verdure, our extraordinary 243-acre property in New Berlin, New York. The landscape unfolds across open meadows, hardwood and evergreen forests, old farm roads, streams, ponds, stone walls and the traces of generations who lived and worked here before us.
Whether you are riding for the first time or returning to something you already love, our goal is to create a welcoming experience that allows you to leave the everyday behind and become fully present in the landscape.
Verdure offers the kind of varied terrain that makes every ride feel like a journey. Trails and farm roads lead from open pasture into shaded forest, past water and wildlife, and toward quiet corners of the property that can only truly be appreciated at the pace of a horse.
Our rides will be intentionally small and guided, allowing us to match each guest with an appropriate horse and offer a more personal experience. Before setting out, riders will receive a basic orientation and time to become comfortable with their horse.
Verdure is surrounded on three sides by the 1,666-acre Skinner Hill State Forest, creating the sense of being part of a much larger wilderness.
The state forest contains a mixture of hardwood forest, spruce and pine plantations, open fields and wetlands. Old logging and skid roads pass through a landscape inhabited by white-tailed deer, wild turkey, ruffed grouse, waterfowl and other wildlife. Two trout streams also cross the forest, while historic stone walls, bridges, foundations and other remnants tell the story of the land’s past.
As our riding program grows—and subject to applicable New York State permissions—we hope to incorporate selected routes through Skinner Hill State Forest into longer guided adventures.
At Live With Adventure, horses are not simply a way to travel. They invite us to slow down, pay attention and respond honestly to the world around us.
Some guests will come for the scenery. Others will come to build confidence, reconnect with themselves or share an experience with the people they love. Whatever brings you here, we want you to leave feeling more grounded, more awake and a little more adventurous.
